Enjoy SPA rituals in your home

News
Nothing boosts your mood as quickly as a few hours devoted entirely to ourselves.

Enjoying a good book, preparing a delicious dinner, working out, taking a walk, or spending time on self-care and beautifying. The last of these is usually associated with beauty salons or spa centers, but some treatments that affect both beauty and well-being can also be prepared at home. For a pleasant atmosphere, play your favorite song, brew a cup of homemade coffee, and try one of these rituals!

A warm bath or a long shower

The grooming ritual is ideally best started with a fragrant bath because warm water calms and helps open the pores, so our skin is prepared for the next treatment. During this ritual, it is desirable to use a slightly rougher sponge so that, with a gentle body scrub, we can remove impurities, as well as dead skin cells, and get that soft, velvety feeling.

Freshly ground coffee for smooth skin

In spa centers in some parts of Russia, freshly ground coffee grounds are used in treatments as a body scrub. This simple yet effective treatment can also be done at home by massaging coffee grounds into damp skin and letting them dry for a few minutes. Coffee grounds are gentle, acting as a natural exfoliant, so they help remove dry, dead layers of skin from the body. Also, caffeine from coffee helps immediately with toning, as well as reducing irritation on the body.

Asian-style facial care

The face requires extra care, so salons place special focus on the skin type, based on which the ingredients and treatment type are chosen. After spending time in the salon, we feel fresh, and our skin looks rested and healthy. We can prepare exactly such a treatment at home, one aimed at rejuvenation and a radiant feeling. The main ingredient is rice, which is used for deep cleansing of the skin and removing excess oil. A cup of rice needs to be soaked in hot water and left for 30 minutes so that the rice starch rises to the surface. Once it cools, mix the water with rice flour to make a thick paste. Apply the resulting texture to the face and leave it for 10–15 minutes so it sets, then rinse the face with cold water. You will get smooth, hydrated skin. Repeat this treatment once a week, and in just a few weeks your skin will look more rested and your face fresher.

Natural hair packs

The most common mistake in at-home hair care is overdoing masks and conditioners. If you have a problem with hair loss, if your hair tangles easily, or if your scalp gets oily, it is best to use mild, as natural as possible shampoos. Likewise, nourishing masks can help hair gain shine and volume and break and split less at the ends. One of the best oils in the world used for hair care is coconut oil! All you need to do is melt it (since it is otherwise solid) and apply it evenly to the hair. Then put on a shower cap and leave it for several hours, then wash your hair thoroughly. You will get shiny and elastic hair like from a hair salon.

A scalp massage of just a few minutes can significantly improve circulation and, in addition to clean hair, contribute to a better feeling throughout the body. To make the massage as pleasant as possible, you can make a mask from aloe vera and yogurt. Aloe vera is excellent for caring for dry scalp skin that is prone to flaking. For this mask, you need 4 tablespoons of aloe vera gel, 3 tablespoons of yogurt, and 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Combine the ingredients in one bowl, and for application you can use a dye brush or simply apply the mask with your hands. Leave it on for about half an hour, then try to rinse the hair with the coldest water possible; this technique will add shine and volume to the hair. A few minutes before drying, keep your hair wrapped in a towel—after all, home rituals are different because they can last longer!

Treatment for hands and feet

Our hands tend to dry out due to frequent washing, and feet also become rough during the winter period. That is precisely why pedicures and manicures hold a special place in every beauty salon, which you can also have in your own home. What do you need? A bath or scrub, nail files for shaping the nails, and a very moisturizing cream for the very end. If you want to remove bacteria and impurities, you can always use baking soda, which provides an excellent skin-care treatment. If you suffer from tired feet, we suggest adding eucalyptus oil to the bath; it helps relieve pain and gives a pleasant, refreshing feeling.

These small rituals and healthy habits will not only save you money but also the time you would spend going to the salon. Healthy habits, such as the time we dedicate to ourselves, can contribute to greater self-confidence, a better feeling, and improved mood.
