Morning Routine
In order to maintain healthy habits and stay productive, it is best to introduce morning routines. Yes, of course making the bed is a given, but small rituals such as showering, lightly preparing breakfast (healthy is even better), yoga, or ten minutes of meditation will help wake us up and start the day by doing something useful for ourselves that makes us feel good. While we get ready for the workday, we also prepare the first cup of morning coffee, which further wakes up our energy and creates a sense of freshness.
Clean and Tidy Space
If you work from home, it is important to be well organized, to adapt your living space into an “office,” and to arrange your responsibilities according to priorities. A desk, quiet ambient music, and a notebook for notes are quite enough to signal to your brain that you are working, and if you keep your workspace clean and uncluttered, you will have more willingness to work.
Take a Coffee Break
After several hours of work, nothing feels as good as a cup of strong, homemade coffee! The smell of coffee itself evokes comfort and enjoyment, and a short break to prepare and serve your favorite drink is enough to relax and relieve us. To feel its benefits, consume freshly ground coffee without any additives. For extra enjoyment, close your eyes for a moment and let coffee, with its full flavor, awaken all your senses!
Use the Pomodoro Technique
Developed by Francesco Cirillo in the late eighties, this technique helps boost productivity by dividing work time into two 25-minute segments and two shorter 5-minute breaks. Use the five-minute break to call your loved ones, water the flowers, have a snack. This practice will help your brain get used to short breaks, and during work you will have better concentration.
Enough Sleep
Research shows that lack of sleep is directly linked to a decline in productivity. In order to get at least seven hours of sleep, you should go to bed at roughly the same time and avoid postponing your morning alarm. In this way, you will create a routine, and your body will get used to a proper sleep cycle.
